Remote Differential Compression is used to transfer data over network in compressed format. Since most of the old operating systems came before Windows 8 (available in Vista) do not support this RDC feature, it slows down network data transfer in Windows 8. You can remove this RDC (Remote Differential Compression) in Windows 8 by accessing the Control Panel and selecting Programs and Features. Select ‘Turn Windows features on or off’ to disable "Remote Differential Compression, as shown below.
